Eastern Beach Picnic
On March the 4th 2013 Panmure Bridge School went on a picnic to Eastern Beach . We went on the bus. When we got there we sat on the grass and Mr Johnston talked to us before Room 9 and Room 6 had to go to Ms Kirkpatrick. She told us about the kayaking we would be doing. The first kayak group went to wait by the kayaks and everybody else ate their morning tea.
When we all finished our morning tea we climbed on the tree and then we walked on the sand and we watched the people on the kayaks. Then after that we went back to the tree where our bags were and when we got there we noticed that Tatiana had fallen out of her kayak. So she had to come back to shore so she could hop back in her kayak.
Then after group B and C had been it was time for group D to go on the kayaks. I was in that group but I wasn’t ready so I had to run as fast as I could to get changed. Phew! I made it! Ms kirkpatrick told us to grab a paddle then she showed and told us how to use it and how to come together. When she finished we went and stood by a kayak. Miss Nichols told me to hop in the kayak so I hopped in it and she pulled me into the water. When we were all in our kayaks Ms Kirkpatrick told us to paddle out to the buoy. Our next challenge was to come together and hold onto each others kayak so we didn’t float away from each other. Two people had to swap kayaks by walking over the top of all of our kayaks. Then we played tag. The rules were if you got tagged you had to hold your paddles up until somebody came and tagged you. After we had finished playing tag we had a race back. Kane came first, Ms Kirkpatrick came second and Leila and I came a tie in third place. Then we had to help take the kayaks over to Mr Johnston's car and after we had done that we all went and got changed and when we got to the changing room they were packed so we waited for some people to finish getting changed and and after that the school was about to leave so everybody had to sit down on the grass again and listen to Ms Kirkpatrick talk again then when Ms Kirkpatrick had finished talking we got on the bus and went back to school.
